About The Film:

Pound is a short narrative story with parallels. A day at the pound means perfection for this wealthy couple as they arrive to claim the newest addition to their family, no matter the cost.

About the Director:

Anjola Coker is the writer and director of Pound. She is also a co-producer on the film.  She is also a spoken word poet, digital artist and accountant. Her pieces celebrate blackness, faith and wholeness in identity. 

Born in Nigeria and immigrated to America at the age of 9, her experiences grant her opportunity and perspective to create in a distinct way. Driven by her faith, Anjola has a passion for social justice, Africans in the diaspora, truth telling and representation of children and women. As a director, her first short, Strange Fruit, was featured at various film festivals. This is her second short film.
