Decorating my First Apartment on a Skinny Budget

Adulting begins. Those were the words that came to mind as I got the keys to my first apartment. In the past 2 months, I've slowly decorated and learned the art of frugality and decisiveness. Pinterest has been my part time home decor guide, and on a reasonable budget, I've been able to get some great finds. I decided to share my space with you all. Don't assume you have to buy all your furniture in one day. Slow and steady purchase of key finds is the trick I used for this look.  I am not an interior decorator, so this is simply a post to share some ideas and ways friends helped me.

Ross is a lowkey store that saves the day if you have the patience to appreciate its hidden gems.

All the Furniture Decor items featured (excluding the TV i've had since 2013) collectively cost under $800.

Decorating should be a calming experience. It shouldn't break the bank and make you wonder why you even bought something you'd never use in the first place, so take your time.

Places to go for reasonable priced Furniture and Decor

  • Ross: My go to spot. They have everything.
  • Apps on your phone : 5Miles, Offerup, Letgo
  • Ikea: I've only been twice and it was honestly overwhelming. Maybe one day I'll get the courage to try again, this time with a friend.
  • Overstock.com : I was able to get a great deal on my Rug. Get your coupons out and fish for a good deal.

What are some more ways you got great deals on your home/apartment furniture?
