Spoken word poet + Illustrator + Film-maker
Anjola Coker is a spoken word poet, illustrator and film maker from Lagos, Nigeria. Currently living in the U.S, she continues to create pieces that celebrate blackness, faith and wholeness. Driven by the desire to create worlds through words and celebrate the beauty in culture through visuals, Anjola furthers her purpose through artistry.
Anjola's current production that she wrote, directed, and produced, is called Strange Fruit, which received Best Short Film at the Houston Black Film Festival, Honorable Mention for Short Film under 15 mins at the Denton Black Film, and will be screening at the LSU Take 3 Film Festival.
She is currently available for Spoken Word bookings and custom illustrations.
