Spoken word poet + Illustrator + Film-maker
Anjola Coker is a spoken word poet, illustrator and film maker from Lagos, Nigeria. Currently living in the U.S, she continues to create pieces that celebrate blackness, faith and wholeness. Driven by the desire to create worlds through words and celebrate the beauty in culture through visuals, Anjola furthers her purpose through artistry. She is also an accountant on her days off.
Anjola is the writer and director of her second short film entitled Pound. It is currently in post-production to be released later this year.
Anjola's past production that she wrote and directed, titled Strange Fruit, received Best Short Film at the Houston Black Film Festival, Honorable Mention for Short Film under 15 mins at the Denton Black Film, and will be screening at the LSU Take 3 Film Festival.
She is currently available for Spoken Word bookings and custom illustrations.
